A complex, relatively progressive winter storm impacted northwest Connecticut in the preliminary days of December, bringing widespread light to locally moderate snow across Litchfield County.
The main precipitation shield then moved in around or just after 8 AM, bringing light to locally moderate snowfall rates at times throughout the day. Snow concluded in the evening of December 2 with total accumulations ranging from about 0.5 to 5 inches.
Being that this was an early season storm with the greatest accumulation thus far, many accidents were reported with very slick road conditions.
