Snow covered roads led to multiple accidents. Although only 2 to 3 inches of snow was reported, accidents caused several injuries and road closures led to long traffic delays.

Snow began during the mid morning hours on Monday, December 1, just 2 days after a much heavier snow fell on November 29. Although total snowfall amount were only a couple of inches, snowfall rates were briefly heavy and the temperature was very cold leading to a quick accumulation on roadways. The snow arrived earlier than expected leading many people caught off guard by its arrival. A rapid increase in traffic volume occurred just as roadways had become snow covered and slippery. Numerous accidents occurred leading to many road closures. Some were reportedly stuck in traffic for several hours.
