Event narrative

Snow and sleet totals ranged from around 1-2 in most areas. The highest report was 3.0 from Warrensville and Watchung. A light glaze of freezing rain/freezing drizzle was also reported across the county, which lingered into the morning hours on the 27th. As much as 0.10 of ice was reported in Belle Mead and Watchung.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm accompanied by strong warm advection aloft brought a widespread wintry mix of precipitation to portions of the region. A coating of snow and sleet, as well as a coating of freezing rain was reported across much of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and northern Delmarva. The heaviest totals were reported across northern New Jersey, where as much as 4 of snow fell.
