Event narrative

Snow and sleet totals ranged from around 0.5-1 in most areas, with near 2 in the northern portion of the zone near Raritan Bay. The highest report was 2.2 from Red Bank. A light glaze of freezing rain/freezing drizzle was also reported across the county, which lingered into the morning hours on the 27th.

Wider weather episode

A winter storm accompanied by strong warm advection aloft brought a widespread wintry mix of precipitation to portions of the region. A coating of snow and sleet, as well as a coating of freezing rain was reported across much of eastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and northern Delmarva. The heaviest totals were reported across northern New Jersey, where as much as 4 of snow fell.
