Event narrative

Law enforcement (including dispatch, fire department, and other associated first responders) responded to a report of a collision between a semi truck and passenger vehicle on I-15 southbound near mile marker 384 shortly before 1:30 pm. Thereafter numerous other rollover and collision accidents were reported between mile marker 383 to 387. A total of two individuals were transported for medical attention with minor injuries. Winter weather is assumed to be the cause.

Wider weather episode

While somewhat mild by January standards, a moisture rich system brought a period of valley rain and mountain snow, with some higher accumulations noted particularly in portions of Utah's northern mountains.
