Utah Highway Patrol and Utah Department of Transportation reported a multi vehicle crash near mile post 5 on US-40 westbound between Mayflower and Quinns. This accident resulted in a period of road closure for cleanup, and is assumed to be the result of ongoing winter weather.

While somewhat mild by January standards, a moisture rich system brought a period of valley rain and mountain snow, with some higher accumulations noted particularly in portions of Utah's northern mountains.
