Wider weather episode

A strong clipper system impacted eastern New York on December 10, bringing moderate to heavy snow to portions of the Southern Adirondacks; Upper-Hudson Valley; and Mohawk Valley, and light to locally moderate snow to the rest of the region. The heaviest snow not only resulted from the adjacency to the best forcing from the storm, but localized terrain and lake enhancement. Within the Southern Adirondacks, Upper-Hudson Valley, and Mohawk Valley snow accumulations ranged largely from about 4 to 12 inches. Elsewhere, accumulations ranged from about 0.5 to 5 inches.

Key impacts: traffic accidents, travel delays.
