Event narrative

Heavy snow fell in the Jackson Valley with 11 inches of new snow 5 miles northwest of Jackson. Jackson town had 6 to 8 inches of snow reported.

Wider weather episode

A Pacific weather system moved into Wyoming and brought heavy snow to the western mountains and valleys. The heaviest snow fell in the Tetons with 22 inches of new snow at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Over a foot of new snow also fell in portions of Yellowstone Park, the Absarokas, and the western Bighorn Range. For the valleys, up to 14 inches fell in Star Valley and 11 inches in Jackson Hole.
