Event narrative

Heavy snow fell throughout the Salt and Wyoming Range, with a maximum amount of 20 inches at the Spring Creek Divide SNOTEL site.

Wider weather episode

A Pacific weather system moved into Wyoming and brought heavy snow to the western mountains and valleys. The heaviest snow fell in the Tetons with 22 inches of new snow at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Over a foot of new snow also fell in portions of Yellowstone Park, the Absarokas, and the western Bighorn Range. For the valleys, up to 14 inches fell in Star Valley and 11 inches in Jackson Hole.
