Event narrative

Snowfall totals of 4 to 7 inches were reported across the southern half of Cass County. Slightly higher amounts were received from the far southern part of the county with a high report of 7.8 inches near Pillager.

Wider weather episode

A clipper system moved northwest to southeast to the south of the Northland on the 9th into the 10th. This track brought an area of heavy snowfall from the Brainerd Lakes and Walker areas eastward into the I-35 corridor and into parts of northwest Wisconsin. Snowfall totals in this area were in the 5 to 7 inch range with a few areas seeing up to around 8 inches of accumulation.
