Wider weather episode
During the early morning hours of December 19th, a strong cold front swept across the Ohio Valley and disrupted a quiet night by inflicting damaging wind gusts along and in its wake. Downed trees and power lines caused by the strong winds resulted in thousands of homes and businesses across southeast Ohio to be without power for a period of time. Surface winds quickly diminished after daybreak on the 19th as the front marched further eastward and high pressure built in from the west.
