Event narrative

Snowfall totals for the event were generally in the 4 to 8 inch range across the county. A pocket of heavier snowfall occurred in the Sarona area where 11 inches was reported.

Wider weather episode

An area of low pressure moved from eastern Kansas to northern Lake Huron the 28th into the 29th and deepened as it moved to the northeast. An area of heavy snowfall spread across mainly northwestern Wisconsin starting around midday on the 28th and continuing into the evening of the 28th and early morning hours of the 29th. Snowfall totals of 6 to 9 inches were reported across the region with higher pockets to 10-11 inches in a few spots. Gusty winds also led to near-blizzard conditions at times near Lake Superior east of Ashland.
