The strongest wind gust was 80 at the Moss Rock weather sensor. A gust of 71 mph was also recorded at the Lander airport.

A moist Pacific trough moved into western Wyoming and brought heavy snow to the western mountains. The heaviest snow fell in Yellowstone Park where the Two Oceans Plateau SNOTEL site reported 28 inches of new snow. The Absarokas, Tetons, Wind River, Salt River, and Wyoming Ranges all reported new snow totals of over 20 inches. The heavy snow resulted in difficult travel conditions and road closures. In areas east of the Continental Divide, high wind was the main hazard. The most widespread high wind occurred in Natrona County where there were widespread wind gusts over 70 mph, with a maximum wind gust of 88 mph along Hat Six Road to the east of Casper. The Johnson County airport had a wind gust of 81 mph.
