Wider weather episode
A small band of primarily freezing rain and sleet developed across southwestern Minnesota then tracked east across central and eastern Minnesota. The band of precipitation produced an hour or two of a light wintry mix resulting in minor ice and sleet accumulation before changing into all snow. As a result of the freezing rain, slick travel conditions existed during the morning commute. Travel advisories were issued by MnDOT for portions of south-central MN due to slippery roads.
