The observer 2 miles east of Petersburg measured 5 inches of snow. A public report from Florence had 4.5 inches, and 4.4 inches was measured by a spotter located 2 miles south of Union. The CVG airport measured 4.2 inches.

Wider weather episode

An upper level disturbance passed across the Ohio Valley during the early morning hours of the second. Ahead of this snow spread from west to east, beginning in the evening and ending shortly after daybreak.
