A flag pole in the front yard of a home in Powell was bent all the way to the ground by severe thunderstorm wind gusts.
Wider weather episode
Strong cold front brought a line of showers and thunderstorms that were able to successfully transport strong to severe wind gusts to the surface in portions of East Tennessee. Additionally, winds aloft ahead of the front produced several instances of high wind criteria non-thunderstorm wind gusts.
