The ASOS at Chippewa Valley Regional Airport reported multiple hours of freezing drizzle. A CoCoRaHS observer reported a thin layer of ice accumulation on their snowboard in one mile east of Chippewa Falls.

Wider weather episode

Periods of rain, freezing drizzle, and fog impacted travel conditions overnight Christmas into the early morning of December 26th. The freezing precipitation resulted in light icing, primarily in areas north of I-94, with various reports noting anywhere from a glaze to a few hundredths of ice accumulation. The worst travel conditions from the freezing precipitation were mainly in the first few hours of the day after midnight.
