Blizzard conditions observed through the evening hours at KBWP AWOS at Wahpeton Harry Stern Airport. Based on wind observations and analysis this is reflective of the eastern half of Richland County, including the Interstate 29 corridor in the county.

Wider weather episode

A clipper type system brought light to moderate snowfall generally ranging from 2 to 5 inches to parts of eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota, followed by gusty winds. There was one lightly localized area of heavier snow greater than 6 inches in far southeast Cass and northeast Richland county. The most frequent wind gusts of 35 mph or higher remained in far eastern Richland county in southeast North Dakota where blizzard conditions were observed. Near blizzard conditions were observed elsewhere in eastern North Dakota.
