Winter Storm December 13, 2025 – December 14, 2025 · Washington, Pennsylvania
What the National Weather Service wrote
Widespread snow accumulation generally ranging from 5 to 8 inches in general was reported across the county with the highest total of 8.5 inches near Avella.
The wider storm
An Alberta clipper crossing the Ohio River Valley brought widespread, synoptic snow to the region. With deep moisture and strong cold advection, snow ratios were near 20:1 on average with dry/fluffy snow characteristics. Embedded snow bands resulted in locally higher amounts, up to over a foot. County averages ranged from 4 to 9 inches with the highest amounts south and east of Pittsburgh, especially the higher elevations of Westmoreland and Fayette Counties.
