Snow squall. A traffic camera on the Adirondack Northway, Interstate 87 Southbound, just north of the twin bridges, showed visibilities briefly reduced to one quarter of a mile or less within a passing snow squall.

Wider weather episode

A broken line of snow showers and localized snow squalls pushed across eastern New York ahead of a secondary cold front during the afternoon hours on January 11, 2026 leading to some brief visibility reductions to one quarter of a mile or less and wind gusts up to 30 mph. Behind the front, strong winds developed across the region with peak gusts between 40 and 50 mph in some locations.
