Snow spread across northwest Indiana during the afternoon of January 24th and continued through the evening of January 25th as it transitioned to lake effect snow. Snowfall amounts were generally in the 4 to 6 inch range with higher amounts near Lake Michigan, which included 9.0 inches in Valparaiso and 8.1 inches in Hobart.
