The West Texas Mesonet station 14 W Toyavale at KC Ranch measured numerous high wind gusts, including a gust up to 66 mph.
The wider storm
An incoming trough interacted with mid-level moisture and allowed for a few showers and thunderstorms to develop west of a dryline. One such echo produced a downburst that yielded a 60mph wind gust at the Monahans AWOS. A Pac front moved in overnight, which caused high winds at Pine Springs and the Toyavale Mesonet stations as well.
