Multiple reports of freezing rain leading to numerous downed trees/large branches off of SC34 in Newberry County including Mount Pleasant Road and Maybinton Road. Time estimated from radar.

Wider weather episode

A classic ice storm setup developed across the Midlands of South Carolina January 25th. Cold air damming at the surface and strong overrunning aloft produced light and moderate freezing across the Central Midlands with sleet predominant in the Northern Midlands. The southern Midlands saw a shorter period of freezing rain and rain. Damage was primarily due to tree and limb damage along with associated hazardous and impassable roadways.
