The combination of cold temperatures and gusty winds resulted in a prolonged period of extreme wind chills under -30 F. Minimum observed wind chill values reached -40 F at the Interstate 25/US-26 junction WYDOT sensor (8 NNW Glendo) at 5:04 AM MST on 1/26.
