Event narrative

Snowfall totals across much of the area were under 6 inches, but there were a few pockets of heavier snow. One of those pockets resulted in 6.7 inches of accumulation just to the north of Cook.

Wider weather episode

A clipper system brought light snowfall to the region the 15th into the 16th with some light snow showers lingering into the 17th. Northeasterly winds led to lake enhancement near Duluth along with some pockets of heavier snow observed across portions of St. Louis County. Accumulations of 5-7 inches were reported in these areas with a high report of 7.1 inches near Duluth.
