The extreme northern portion of the parish was in D2 drought for the entire month of January.

Wider weather episode

A prolonged period of below-normal rainfall led to the development of severe drought (D2) conditions across portions of Pointe Coupee Parish. Rainfall deficits began in mid December and were not able to recover despite receiving a few inches of rain through January.
