Snow was heaviest near the VA/NC border with a report of 3.5 of snow received from just over the state line in Moyock, NC.

Wider weather episode

An upper low and subsequent coastal low pressure both brought snow to the region in late January of 2026. Heavy snow was focused across the southeast part of the state, especially near the North Carolina border.
