A succession of cold fronts on January 14th ushered in an abundance of cold air to West Virginia. Rain transitioned over to snow by the evening of the 14th and continued into most of the day on January 15th. The heaviest showers created a swath of snow accumulations stretching from Jackson County and into the mountains. The system that caused the snow moved east of the area on the afternoon of the 15th, bringing the chance for additional amounts to an end.
