What the National Weather Service wrote

Light freezing rain and freezing drizzle produced a light glaze of ice, mostly on elevated and exposed surfaces across the county. A few hundredths of an inch of ice accumulation was reported in northern portions of the county including Saint Stephen and Pineville.

The wider storm

With strong cold air damming in place, areas of light drizzle developed in the presence of surface temperatures at or just below freezing in portions of southeast South Carolina. The cold air was quite shallow, providing an ideal temperature profile for freezing rain and freezing drizzle. The event occurred in the early morning hours before surface temperatures warmed above freezing and the drizzle came to an end. Only light ice amounts were observed, with only limited impacts.
