Event narrative

Sleet began to fall during the early morning on the 24th. By 7 AM on the 25th a spotter in Medina reported 0.5 accumulation of sleet and ice. By the time the precipitation ended another observer in Medina reported 1.1 total.

Wider weather episode

A deep upper-level low moved across northern Mexico bringing a strong cold front through South-Central Texas. This resulted in very cold air in the boundary layer with a layer of above freezing air aloft which produced sleet and freezing rain.
