Event narrative

Freezing rain sleet began during the morning on the 24th. A CoCoRaHS observer reported total accumulation of sleet and ice of 0.8 in Burnet.

Wider weather episode

A deep upper-level low moved across northern Mexico bringing a strong cold front through South-Central Texas. This resulted in very cold air in the boundary layer with a layer of above freezing air aloft which produced sleet and freezing rain.
