Freezing rain began around noon on the 24th. By the morning of the 25th a CoCoRaHS observer in Cuero reported 0.15 total accumulation.
Wider weather episode
A deep upper-level low moved across northern Mexico bringing a strong cold front through South-Central Texas. This resulted in very cold air in the boundary layer with a layer of above freezing air aloft which produced sleet and freezing rain.
