A mix of sleet and freezing rain began during the morning of the 24th. A CoCoRaHS observer reported 1 of sleet in Sisterdale on the morning of the 25th.

Wider weather episode

A deep upper-level low moved across northern Mexico bringing a strong cold front through South-Central Texas. This resulted in very cold air in the boundary layer with a layer of above freezing air aloft which produced sleet and freezing rain.
