Nine inches of snow was measured outside of Coeburn, with drifting observed. Additionally three inches of snow was observed in Big Stone Gap.

A heavy snowstorm struck portions of southwestern Virginia at the end of the month, thanks to strong lift from a deep upper trough diving from north to south.
