The wider storm

A clipper system moved north of the region from Tuesday the 10th into Wednesday the 11th. As the low pressure system departed, colder northwest flow developed behind it. This led to lake effect snow showers across north central New York from Wednesday into Thursday. The snow intensified Wednesday afternoon and evening, then gradually weakened and ended late Thursday the 12th. A general 5 to 8 inches of snow fell over Onondaga and Madison counties.
