The Skagway Airport ASOS measured peak gusts of 58mph or greater between late morning on the 22nd and early morning on the 23rd. This included a peak gust of 57 knots (66mph) at 806pm on the 22nd. Northerly sustained winds topped out 40-46mph during the evening and overnight hours as well.

A typical northerly outflow pattern was in place over SE Alaska with strong high pressure in the Yukon (1040-1045mb), clear skies across the northern panhandle, and high winds in Skagway.
