Highway 128 closed due to flooding from the Navarro River and its tributaries. The river reached official flood stage around 10 pm on the 5th for a few hours.

After a prolonged period of light to moderate rainfall across the two counties, a strong atmospheric river brought heavy rain to the area on January 5th. This resulted in numerous reports of flooding and closed highways, particularly in the two county area.
