AWOS station K1CM Charlie measured a 60 mph gust. Additionally, Montana mesonet station Judith Gap measured a 59 mph gust.
The wider storm
Strong upper level troughing diving southeastward from central BC toward southern AB/SK resulted in a sharp transition to strong zonal flow aloft across the Northern Rockies April 7. Favorable timing of the system, arriving during the day, allowed for daytime mixing to translate stronger gusts to the surface in many areas.
