AWOS at Oscoda Wurtsmith Airport, near the coast in Oscoda, reported a minimum wind chill of -27F shortly before midnight going into the 30th. Barton City RAWS in the interior of the county, reported wind chills as low as -15F.

Wider weather episode

Antecedent arctic air mass on the 29th, combined with radiational cooling and a light wind going into the morning of the 30th, led another chilly night, with some sites dropping into the -20 to -30F range for apparent temperatures.
