The wider storm
Ahead of an approaching surface low with a trailing cold front, southern winds brought warmer temperatures and moisture into southern Indiana. Highs reached into the 60s with dew points in the upper 50s. This helped to generate enough instability to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms. One of these storms dropped severe hail in Harrison County.
Began near New Middletown (38.1900, -86.0200).
