The wider storm

Ahead of an approaching surface low with a trailing cold front, southern winds brought warmer temperatures and moisture into central Kentucky. Highs temperatures and dew points reached into the 60s. This helped to generate enough instability to produce scattered showers and thunderstorms. A couple of these storms dropped severe hail in Nelson and Fayette Counties.

Began near Viley (38.0400, -84.5500).
