The wider storm
A strong coastal storm developed offshore of the Mid-Atlantic during the daytime hours on February 22nd, bringing high winds and heavy snow to portions of the Mid-Atlantic by that evening and through the morning hours of February 23rd. Blizzard conditions were confirmed for coastal New Jersey and Delaware, with heavy snow and windy conditions extending farther inland. The heavy snow was wet enough to stick to trees, which caused scattered tree damage and power outages across Delmarva, New Jersey, and the Philadelphia metro area.
