A thunderstorm produced wind gusts estimated at 70 mph that broke some 6-9 inch diameter tree branches near the intersection of Cabeza Rd. and Edmund Mueller northwest of Nordheim.

The wider storm

An upper-level trough moved into West Texas and brought a Pacific cold front through South-Central Texas. Thunderstorms developed along the front some of which produced large hail and damaging wind gusts.
