The wider storm
An upper-level disturbance interacting with an unseasonably warm and humid airmass triggered a line of thunderstorms in the Illinois River Valley during the late afternoon of March 6th. As the line progressed eastward, a few of the stronger cells produced marginally severe hail and a few reports of minor wind damage. A second line of convection formed near the Mississippi River later in the evening and produced a couple wind and hail reports in Fulton County toward midnight.
Began near Table Grove (40.3700, -90.4200).
