Winter Storm in Fillmore, Minnesota

This very narrow snow band brought heavy snow to Fillmore County with snowfall amounts ranging from 6 to 10 inches. The highest total reported in the county was in Preston where 10 inches was measured.

A very impressive but narrow snow band brought heavy snow to portions of southeastern Minnesota on February 28th during the morning and afternoon hours. This event was noteworthy in particular due to its unusually dry snow to liquid ratios, in many cases 30-to-1. This resulted in some overachieving amounts, particularly in Houston and Fillmore counties where snow amounts of 8 to 10 inches were observed.
