Heavy Snow in Calhoun, South Carolina
Heavy Snow February 1, 2026 · Calhoun, South Carolina
What the National Weather Service wrote
Multiple CoCoRAHS observers measured between 2.5 and 3 inches of snow across Calhoun county accumulating into February 1st. Highest county total was 3 inches near Woodford.
The wider storm
A unique snow setup for South Carolina continued into February 1st as a strong coastal low strengthening offshore, while a upper level disturbance shifted over our area. This provided sufficient synoptic and mesoscale lift to continue across portions of northern and eastern SC with unusually high snow to liquid ratios between 15-20 to 1 and highest amounts in the Pee Dee region of SC.
