Heavy Snow February 1, 2026 · Northwestern Orangeburg, South Carolina
What the National Weather Service wrote
Orangeburg Emergency Manager relayed a report of measured 3 inches near Holly Hill with snow accumulating into February 1st.
The wider storm
A unique snow setup for South Carolina continued into February 1st as a strong coastal low strengthening offshore, while a upper level disturbance shifted over our area. This provided sufficient synoptic and mesoscale lift to continue across portions of northern and eastern SC with unusually high snow to liquid ratios between 15-20 to 1 and highest amounts in the Pee Dee region of SC.
