Heavy Snow in Central Orangeburg, South Carolina
Heavy Snow February 1, 2026 · Central Orangeburg, South Carolina
What the National Weather Service wrote
Trained spotter and CoCoRAHS reports of 2 inches of measured snow in and around the city of the Orangeburg with snow accumulating into February 1st.
The wider storm
A unique snow setup for South Carolina continued into February 1st as a strong coastal low strengthening offshore, while a upper level disturbance shifted over our area. This provided sufficient synoptic and mesoscale lift to continue across portions of northern and eastern SC with unusually high snow to liquid ratios between 15-20 to 1 and highest amounts in the Pee Dee region of SC.
