Winter Storm in Marquette, Michigan

Winter Storm February 18, 2026 · Marquette, Michigan

What the National Weather Service wrote

Snow and freezing rain reports varied throughout the county, but the highest verifiable report was from a NWS Employee at 1 N Trowbridge Park with a report of 9.5 inches with a glaze of ice on top. Key impacts: school closures, municipality closures, hazardous travel.

The wider storm

A deep occluded low approaching the UP from the west on the 18th brought a warm front just south of the UP and eventually the occluded front moved over the UP as the low weakened by the 19th. This brought a mess of heavy wet snow and freezing rain as well as high winds. Impacts included a majority of school districts closed, municipal facilities closed, power outages, and near-impassible roads.
