Winter Weather February 20, 2026 – February 21, 2026 · Southern Berkshire, Massachusetts

What the National Weather Service wrote

Zone average snowfall of 2.3 inches.

The wider storm

A low pressure system tracking through the Great Lakes lifted a series of fronts through western Massachusetts, resulting in widespread precipitation from Friday, February 20 through Saturday, February 21, 2026. Most of this precipitation fell in the form of snow, though some of the highest elevations of the Berkshire Mountains received minimal accumulations of freezing rain and sleet with some lower-lying areas conversely receiving some plain rain.

The highest accumulations of snow fell across portions of the northern Berkshires where about 4 to 7 inches were recorded. Across lower elevations, about 1 to 3 inches were common. Fortunately, freezing rain accumulations were more apparent based on radar products rather than in ground-truth observations so little in the way of impacts occurred due to ice accretion.

Key impacts: traffic accidents.
